Snow Day!

Just a quick note to say a snowy hello from Minnesota - I mean Oklahoma! We broke a record this week for the most snowfall in the history of keeping records for snowfall! We had over 26 inches! So much for global warming!

Anywho - wanted to share a picture of my sweet puppy who apparently believes she is part Alaskan Husky. . .

A Groovy Sketch. . .

I chose to "labor" today in my studio and catch up on a few sketches that have been begging for attention. First, here's Jen's Sketch For You To Try -

And here's my version. . .
Like most of the stampers who have tried them, I too am in L-O-V-E with the new a' la modes

from My Favorite Things. This set is called Groovy Girl and she's is such a cutie patootie!

I picked up this groovy paper and ribbon from Hobby Lobby and I must say it's a perfect match for this girl! I stamped the image in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored it in with my Copic markers. I sprinkled the peace symbol with Bumblebee Glitter from Doodlebug Designs.

Here's a close-up. . .

Well off to another sketch! Thanks for stopping by!

Have a groovy day!
Peace Sign

A Buggy Sketch For You To Try!

I realize that school is back in session and Labor Day is just a short two weeks away, meaning that summer is coming to a close. While some of you are beginning to see the change in the season, we Okies are still in "100+ degree-heat-ozone-alert-summer's-never-gonna-end" mode. As such, we've still got lots of insects who apparently haven't figured out to take a chapter from the geese playbook and head north. Case in point, we disposed of a hornets nest and it's occupants just last night! Dorks.

But not all bugs are stinging, blood sucking, annoying, plant eating, pains in the rear. Wouldn't you agree? Take this little guy for example. . .

I used Jen's Sketch For You To Try and in a desperate act to use brightly colored paper stacks "just one more time" before summer ends - I used some wonderful "get your sunglasses" patterned paper from Me & My Big Ideas. Here's a close-up of the Copic Spica Marker accents:I swear if this little guy ends up creating a nest on my porch, I vow to not shoot him with "Hot Shot". . .

Well, time for me to "bug" out!

Testing the Blogspot

I am testing out the option of switching to the blogspot world. I have a blog, but I've found it difficult to manipulate the setting and create a blog that's more me. This is just a test, but I'm going to be trying it out and see if I like being a blogger. . .

I am trying out the differences between posting pictures, text, etc., as well as the options for different backgrounds.

I'll be back to let you know what I think!
